Are we even aware of the goodness all around us?...the fact that we are breathing and writing and reading these words is a marvel in itself. How often we take something for granted and then miss it as soon as it has gone. Many times a loved one leaves us only for us to wish we had told them just how much they meant to us.

It is grace to notice what is right instead of what is wrong and begin to see every problem as an opportunity for growth and learning....Is your glass half full or half empty?

Lets all, during this special week, value all the goodness and beauty around us.... This could be as simple as a smile or gazing into the eyes of your loved one or watching a magical, beautiful sunset or simply being alive and joyful.

Two weeks ago we lost our beloved Zarif; a beautiful cat, who was with us for 15 years. I am very grateful for having had him in my life; he knew how to give and receive love and how to be present. Thank you Zarif for being such a precious teacher!

I am also greatful for my partner, Ivan. Yet, without our health, we have nothing, least of all our personal freedom. Dr. Richard Schulze, naturopathic doctor and author of 'There Are No Incurable Diseases', fearlessly believes and has physically proven that, "Your body has the ability to heal itself completely of any disease” (Schulze, p. 20).

Ivan and I strongly agree with Dr. Schulze’s statement and have witnessed for ourselves here at Sanivan, just how powerful a healing can occur with simple methods like bowel cleanses, as well as gallbladder and liver flushes. Due to the wide range of success we have had with our clients, his program is the only detox program we trust. That is why all of our detox programs are administered using Dr. Schulze’s recipes and formulas from his “Incurables Program”. The results have been astounding and have left us in sheer awe of the human body’s capacity to heal itself.

What we have learned is that the colon and liver are both responsible for assimilating food and neutralizing toxins in your body in various ways, so it is always a good idea to cleanse both. Doing a bowel cleanse and then following it with a liver flush can lead to wide-ranging health benefits and the possible elimination of years of toxic buildup from your body. Dr. Schulze writes, “Since the liver dumps through the bile duct and out into the colon, the colon must be in optimum use. If the colon (the drain pipe if you will) is plugged, the waste backs up into the blood stream and can make you feel extremely ill. This is the reason to always start with the colon detox. It's the prerequisite for all the other cleanses in the body -- and, of course, can also produce dramatic healings in its own right. (Schulze, p. 13)”

The Bowel Cleanse
A bowel cleanse should be the first detoxing program you do. According to Dr. Richard Schulz, all of his patients were told to do a five-day bowel detox to start, regardless of what their ailment was. The reason is that your colon is the last channel in your body through which waste is stored, so if it is not functioning properly, a detox of any other organ will fail.

We follow Dr. Schulze’s five-day bowel cleanse protocol which involves taking colon cleansers with bulking fiber agents along with an herbal laxative designed to keep waste moving through your body. During this time, it is imperative that you avoid refined flour, processed foods, meats and dairy products while on the five-day program and instead eat whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables. You also need to drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily during the bowel cleanse, as a means of keeping the colon active. The cleanse ends after five days, at which point you should be having bowel movements following every major meal that you eat.

Liver/Gallbladder Flush
By cleansing the liver, we're talking about inducing the liver to purge all of the fats, old cholesterol deposits, gallstones, poisons, drug residues and toxic waste stored therein. Probably nothing else you do (including even the bowel cleanse and detox) will make a greater difference in your overall health.

Once again, using Dr. Schulze’s program for gallbladder and liver flushes, two methods of cleansing are used. The first is a specially formulated liver/gallbladder flush drink and the second is using the drink along with teas, tonic and tinctures. It is always best to do a cleanse with a guide who can help you understand the changes your body will go through and answer any questions you have about the process.

Interested in learning more about how to take you health back into your own hands? Then come join us this July 10th for our Detox workshop and leave knowing how to make your own cleansing drinks. An introduction to Dr. Schulze’s “Incurable Program” will be given and you will also have the advantage of purchasing some of Dr. Schulze’s products at a discounted price (See our Upcoming Events or Full Calendar for more details). Also see our Featured Spa Service for the Month – a weekend of guided cleansing with an added 20% savings for you when you purchase a treatment for a family member or friend in the month of July.

It is our birthright to not just be alive, but to live with enthusiasm. Taking responsibility for our well being now will not only empower us to heal ourselves and give us the freedom we need to be healthy, happy human beings, but it is also what gives us the strength, ability and wisdom to go on and empower another!

Cited Works:
1. If this is not the case, or if there is an issue with things moving too slowly or too quickly, try Crow Pose. Simply stand with feet pointed straight ahead, about hips’ width apart. Raise the arms so they are perpendicular to the body, fingers straight ahead, palms down. Then lower yourself into a squat, doing your best to keep the feet pointed straight ahead, the back in a straight line up and down. Synchronize breath with the movement by inhaling in the up position and exhaling as you squat. Start with a few and work up to 3 minutes worth. Not only will you get regular, you will tone your hips, thighs and rear. Drop your eyes if they stare hard at you; above all for women.
* The woman of the lodge are the keepers of the fire, but the men should help with the heavier sticks.
* Be kind
* Show respect to all men and women, but grovel to none.
* Let silence be your motto, until duty bids you to speak.
* Thank the Great Spirit for every meal.

Found on: www.ahastories.com/NativeAmericanQuotes.htm

Howard Zinn Obituary in the New York Times

We highly encourage you to read this moving obituary written about Howard Zinn and the contributions he made before he departed.

Saniye and Ivan

Howard Zinn, Historian, Is Dead at 87
By: MICHAEL POWELL
Published: January 28, 2010

Howard Zinn, historian and shipyard worker, civil rights activist and World War II bombardier, and author of “A People’s History of the United States,” a best seller that inspired a generation of high school and college students to rethink American history, died Wednesday in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 87 and lived in Auburndale, Mass.

The cause was a heart attack he had while swimming, his family said.

Proudly, unabashedly radical, with a mop of white hair and bushy eyebrows and an impish smile, Mr. Zinn, who retired from the history faculty at Boston University two decades ago, delighted in debating ideological foes, not the least his own college president, and in lancing what he considered platitudes, not the least that American history was a heroic march toward democracy.

Almost an oddity at first, with a printing of just 4,000 in 1980, “A People’s History of the United States” has sold nearly two million copies. To describe it as a revisionist account is to risk understatement. A conventional historical account held no allure; he concentrated on what he saw as the genocidal depredations of Christopher Columbus, the blood lust of Theodore Roosevelt and the racial failings of Abraham Lincoln. He also shined an insistent light on the revolutionary struggles of impoverished farmers, feminists, laborers and resisters of slavery and war.

Such stories are more often recounted in textbooks today; they were not at the time.

“Our nation had gone through an awful lot — the Vietnam War, civil rights, Watergate — yet the textbooks offered the same fundamental nationalist glorification of country,” Mr. Zinn recalled in a recent interview with The New York Times. “I got the sense that people were hungry for a different, more honest take.”

In a Times book review, the historian Eric Foner wrote of the book that “historians may well view it as a step toward a coherent new version of American history.” But many historians, even those of liberal bent, took a more skeptical view.

“What Zinn did was bring history writing out of the academy, and he undid much of the frankly biased and prejudiced views that came before it,” said Sean Wilentz, a professor of history at Princeton University. “But he’s a popularizer, and his view of history is topsy-turvy, turning old villains into heroes, and after a while the glow gets unreal.”

That criticism barely raised a hair on Mr. Zinn’s neck. “It’s not an unbiased account; so what?” he said in the Times interview. “If you look at history from the perspective of the slaughtered and mutilated, it’s a different story.”

Few historians succeeded in passing so completely through the academic membrane into popular culture. He gained admiring mention in the movie “Good Will Hunting”; Matt Damon appeared in a History Channel documentary about him; and Bruce Springsteen said the starkest of his many albums, “Nebraska,” drew inspiration in part from Mr. Zinn’s writings.

Born Aug. 24, 1922, Howard Zinn grew up in New York City. His parents were Jewish immigrants, and his father ran candy stores during the Depression without much success.

“We moved a lot, one step ahead of the landlord,” Mr. Zinn recalled. “I lived in all of Brooklyn’s best slums.”

He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and became a pipe fitter in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where he met his future wife, Roslyn Shechter. Raised on Charles Dickens, he later added Karl Marx to his reading, organized labor rallies and got decked by a billy-club-wielding cop.

He joined the Army Air Corps in 1943, eager to fight the fascists, and became a bombardier in a B-17. He watched his bombs rain down and, when he returned to New York, deposited his medals in an envelope and wrote: “Never Again.”

“I would not deny that war had a certain moral core, but that made it easier for Americans to treat all subsequent wars with a kind of glow,” Mr. Zinn said. “Every enemy becomes Hitler.”

He and his wife lived in a rat-infested basement apartment as he dug ditches and worked in a brewery. Later they moved to public housing and he went to college on the G.I. Bill.

He earned a B.A. at New York University and master’s and doctoral degrees at Columbia University. In 1956 he landed a job at Spelman College, a historically black women’s college, as chairman of the history department. Among his students were Marian Wright Edelman, founder of the Children’s Defense Fund; Alice Walker, the novelist; and the singer and composer Bernice Johnson Reagon.

Mr. Zinn served on the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and marched for civil rights with his students, which angered Spelman’s president.

“I was fired for insubordination,” he recalled. “Which happened to be true.”

Mr. Zinn moved to Boston University in 1964. He traveled with the Rev. Daniel Berrigan to Hanoi to receive prisoners released by the North Vietnamese, and produced the antiwar books “Vietnam: The Logic of Withdrawal” (1967) and “Disobedience and Democracy” (1968).

He waged a war of attrition with Boston University’s president at the time, John Silber, a political conservative. Mr. Zinn twice organized faculty votes to oust Mr. Silber, and Mr. Silber returned the favor, saying the professor was a sterling example of those who would “poison the well of academe.”

Mr. Zinn’s book “La Guardia in Congress” (1959) received an honorable mention in the competition for the American Historical Association’s Albert J. Beveridge Award. “A publisher went so far as to publish my quotations, which my wife thought was ridiculous,” Mr. Zinn said. “She said, ‘What are you, the pope or Mao Tse-Tung?’ ”

Mr. Zinn retired in 1988, concluding his last class early so he could join a picket line. He invited his students to join him.

Mr. Zinn wrote three plays: “Daughter of Venus,” “Marx in Soho” and “Emma,” about the life of the anarchist Emma Goldman. All have been produced. His last article was a rather bleak assessment of President Obama for The Nation. “I’ve been searching hard for a highlight,” he wrote.

Rosyln Zinn died in 2008. Mr. Zinn is survived by a daughter, Myla Kabat-Zinn of Lexington, Mass.; a son, Jeff Zinn, of Wellfleet, Mass.; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Zinn spoke recently of more work to come. The title of his memoir, he noted, best described his personal philosophy: “You Can’t Be Neutral on a Moving Train.”

This article has been revised to reflect the following correction:

Correction: February 2, 2010
Because of an editing error, an obituary on Friday about Howard Zinn, the author of “A People’s History of the United States,” misidentified the department of Boston University where he taught for many years. It was the political science department, not the history department.

This article has been revised to reflect the following correction:

Correction: February 5, 2010
An obituary last Friday about Howard Zinn, the author of “A People’s History of the United States,” erroneously included an award among his many honors. His book “La Guardia in Congress” received an honorable mention in the competition for the American Historical Association’s Albert J. Beveridge Award; it did not win the award itself.

Howard Zinn and Woody Harrelson Interview...

Hello All,

Enjoy this wonderful video of Howard Zinn being interviewed by actor and activist, Woody Harrelson:

http://www.freespeech.org/node/1361

With Love,
Saniye and Ivan

“Beyond shiatsu with the Ohashiatsu Method”

Originating in Japan, Shiatsu has become widespread among both eastern and western cultures. "Shiatsu technique refers to the use of fingers and the palm of one's hand to apply pressure to particular sections on the surface of the body for the purpose of correcting the imbalances of the body and for maintaining and promoting health. (“Shiatsu").

Shiatsu has earned professional attention and even medical licensing. In 2007, Andrew Long of the University of Leeds published a paper noting that when treated with Shiatsu, a "statistically significant improvement in symptoms was reported across a large number of participants with stress levels and muscular/joint problems showing the most improvement" (“Shiatsu”).

Here at Sanivan, we don't just offer our guests Shiatsu treatments, we offer them Ohashiatsu - a unique method of healing touch that combines hands-on touch techniques, limb rotation and stretches in a seamless flow of movement. This amazing massage offers the flexibility and endurance of yoga, the strength building and enhanced posture of Pilates, the revitalization of your own life force energy and spirit, while de-stressing your body, as well as your mind ("What is Ohashiatsu?").

Ivan and I believe the intuitive connection between giver and receiver is what makes Ohashiatsu so special. We feel that a sacred space is created when the giver and receiver are both present in the moment and able to feel the ki or life energy flow in the body. We follow the Ohashiatsu's core teaching that one must work from the "Hara" or center and source of inner strength and calm, allowing both parties to remain safe and balanced.

We would relish the opportunity to bring this high level of health, change and healing into your life. Portobello mushrooms have long been the vegetarian's steak and the mashed potatoes can be made vegan if desired.

SERVES 4

INGREDIENTS:

4 large organic portobello mushrooms, stems removed
3 tablespoons organic first cold pressed virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon tamari or shoyu sauce
2 cups organic jalapeno mashed potatoes*
2 organic leeks (mostly whites), washed well and slivered lengthwise
Pure sea salt to taste
Cayenne pepper taste

*You may use your favorite mashed potato recipe and if you'd like to use a vegan version, that's great too! To make jalapeno mashed potatoes, simply soak 1 to 3 dried jalapenos in very hot water for 30 minutes and puree in a blender with a little bit of soaking water. Add this puree to the mashed potatoes and mix once they are prepared. For a spicier version, try chipotle peppers and see if you can take the heat! Other peppers may be substituted if dry ones are unavailable.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 375'F
2. Heat 1 tablespoon of tamari or shoyu sauce and olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat
3. Add the mushrooms and sear each side until browned and slightly steamed down
4. Remove the mushrooms from skillet and place in a lightly oiled baking dish
5. Spoon 1/2 cup mashed potatoes over each mushroom cap and drizzle lightly with 1 tablespoon olive oil
6. Bake until hot, about 10 minutes
7. While mushrooms are baking, heat remaining olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat
8. Add the leeks and stir until crisp, about 5 minutes, then drain on paper towels
9. Place the mushrooms on serving plate and top with fried leeks, salt, and cayenne pepper to taste
10. Enjoy!

The Cherokee Legend - How very true it is…

we found this lovely passage to be very inspiring and what better time to honor the protectors and the journey of manhood, then on Father's Day ~ Saniye and Ivan

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage?

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone.
Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man! Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold.

It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.

We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, God is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.

If you liked this story, pass it on. If not, you took off your blindfold before dawn.

Moral of the story: Just because you can't see God, doesn't mean He is not there, "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Facials Unmasked: From Nature to Nurture, The Jurlique Difference

When we think of facials, we often think only of outer beauty. This month, let's reshape our ideas about facials, realizing that they are a great way to nurture ourselves by using the natural resources our planet provides. As we focus on Mother Consciousness and Earth Awareness, we can find ways to bring these creative aspects into our bodies and lives. When we use all natural, organic facial products, such as the Australian grown Jurlique line, we honor the earth and ourselves.

So first, what exactly does a facial entail? A variety of skin treatments are tailored to each person's skin needs, and usually includes cleansing, exfoliation, steaming, extraction and mask, followed by moisturizers, and sometimes includes massage. At Sanivan we use only the finest Jurlique products during your facial. Here is what founder, Ulrike Klein, had to say about the “Jurlique Difference”:

“In 25 years, Jurlique has grown hundreds of products, but the vision behind it remains the same. At the heart of every product is a potent blend of herbs and flowers brought to life in our formulas and delivered to your skin. Jurlique scientists complement our formulas with the finest, most potent, biodynamic, organics and natural ingredients sourced the world over – ingredients which meet Jurlique’s exacting standards. From farm to bottle, we are uniquely positioned to ensure the highest efficacy and optimum quality in our products"

Besides its outstanding quality, a Jurlique facial starts with a unique treatment, a warm herbal compress, which prepares the skin for the rest of the facial. By applying a soft cloth soaked in warm water infused with water-soluble essential oils, the skin is opened, relaxed, and refreshed, becoming more supple, and ready for exfoliation, while aromatherapy calms mind and body, so that the facial can be fully enjoyed.

After the compress comes exfoliation, which helps to maintain the skin by removing the dead cells that lie on the surface, clearing clogged pores, preventing acne and wrinkles, as well as exposing hair follicles on men, allowing for a more comfortable shave. The skin is our largest organ of detoxification; by removing the dead cells that clog our pores we allow them to do their natural job of oxygenating cells and eliminating toxins. Exfoliation is usually done after cleansing the skin. Jurlique's non-granular Daily Exfoliating Cream is a great way to gently cleanse and exfoliate at the same time, while soothing your skin with it's all natural formula of herbal extracts. "While there are many wives' tales surrounding the benefits of certain ingredients, scientific studies have proven that such ingredients as Chamomile have demonstrated healing and anti-inflammatory properties when applied topically (excerpt from Wikipedia, natural skin care)".

After exfoliation the face is steamed, opening up the skin up for extraction. While most spas currently use newer steamers that blow warm moist air out of a tube onto the facial surface, we prefer the old fashioned steamer that the Jurlique founders trained us with. To use this steamer you sit upright with the head inclined and the face is placed into an upright facial cup that gives off herb infused steam. By inclining the head you allow gravity to assist toxins in coming to the surface so that they can be released by the opened pores, and even more exciting, it's a perfect opportunity for us to give you a shoulder and neck massage! Once the pores have opened the skin is gently dried as you lie down and extraction begins.

Facial extraction can be done a variety of ways. At Sanivan, we use a comodon technique, which involves a special tool that removes blackheads and whiteheads without causing redness and swelling as some other methods can. Your facial technician should look at your skin under a lighted magnifying glass that makes clogged pores readily visible. While extractions can sometimes be uncomfortable or even a little painful if toxins are deeply embedded, it is a valuable tool that truly promotes not only beauty, but health as well, by cleansing the body of waste. Throughout the extraction process Jurlique Calendula Lotion is applied to calm, soothe, disinfect, and reduce redness and inflammation. This is a great lotion to use throughout the day, especially the first few days after a facial when the skin may be slightly sensitive.

After extraction is complete a refresher or toner is applied to replenish and hydrate the skin. This can be in the form of a spray mist or liquid toner. We prefer to use one of Jurlique's herb infused toning mists, as misting is less irritating because there is no rubbing; the face is directly and softly sprayed with an herbal infusion. Misting after extraction calms and balances not only body, but mind as well through the use of aromatherapy naturally provided by herbal extracts. Toning mists also protect the skin before application of further products.

Exfoliation, steaming, extraction, and misting have now prepared the skin for a clay or mud mask that usually contains herbal extracts. As the clay and extracts harden and dry, they pull toxins out of the skin and pores, smoothing and cleansing, while herbs, vitamins, and minerals revitalize, calm and moisturize the skin's many layers. While the mask is drying we use the opportunity to provide massage and reflexology. For more information on one of our favorite masks - Jurlique's Purifying Mask, please see “Product of the Month Feature” in our May eNewsletter.

Now that the face has been fully and deeply cleansed, toning mist is sprayed again and moisturizer is applied, either cream, lotion or oil, depending on skin type. By ending with a moisturizer the face is rehydrated as well as protected against environmental pollutants, as skin can be slightly exposed and vulnerable immediately following a facial. Two of our favorite moisturizers are Jurlique's Soothing Day Care Lotion and Jurlique's Skin Balancing Face oil. We also love Jurlique's lotions, creams and oils because the herbal extracts smell so wonderful that they keep refreshing and relaxing for hours after application.

At Sanivan we do our best to make sure you get the most calming, cleansing, and balancing facial possible. We evaluate your skin type and tailor which Jurlique products we use to meet your personal skin care needs, as taught to us by the founders of this amazing skin care line. We hope you will treat yourself to an incredible Sanivan Jurlique Holistic Facial now that you know how wonderful they are for body, mind and mirror! We want you to be able to share this experience with your loved ones as well, so take advantage of our Mother's Day Special this May. Give mom the gift of nurturing through nature: when you purchase a facial treatment for mom, receive 20% off your own facial and a complimentary Love Balm salve by Jurlique.

We're proud to end this article with a final word from Jurlique explaining how a sustainable growing philosophy can lead to beauty and health, and how we can turn nature into the gift of nurturing for both ourselves and the planet.

"With respect for life and nature, we use biodynamic farming methods, sustaining and enriching the soil with each harvest cycle to optimize the living energy in our plants, in our products, and on your skin. We focus on the health of the soil by observing the cycles of the earth that affect seeding, propagating, growing, and harvesting. This is how we maximize the living energy present in plants as they grow. While we never use pesticides or herbicides on our farm, biodynamic farming goes beyond common organic practices – to ensure the most natural herbal and plant extracts possible with maximum ‘life-force’ and no residual, unnecessary chemicals. This makes Jurlique different – and how we are able to create the most natural and efficacious skin care products, in dynamic formulas made possible only by Jurlique."

(Jurlique quotes taken from official website at www.jurlique.com/page/discover_farm)

Organic Gardening

Hello Dear Ones,

Below are two very good resources for organic gardening. Try to include a variety of colors that are pleasing to the eye and stomach!

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Combine the seeds, nuts, lemon juice, Bragg's, garlic and spices in a food processor. Process until a smooth pate is formed.

2. Prepare the vegetables by slicing them into long thin strips, keep in separate piles or bowls.

3. Place a nori sheet on the sushi rolling mat, shiny side face down, keeping the bottom of the sheet in line with bottom of mat.

4. Carefully spread a thin layer of pate over nori sheet using a knife or spatula, leaving an empty 1/2-3/4 inch strip across the top of the nori sheet

5. Spread a very thin layer of ume paste across the bottom inch of the pate.

6. Place the vegetables at the very bottom of the nori sheet, making a thin row of each vegetable piled neatly on top of each other.

7. Gently lift the bottom of the mat, begin rolling it forward and over as you softly hold the vegetable tucked in place.

8. As you roll forward tuck the bottom edge of the nori sheet over securely. With a firm grip on the mat continue to roll forward with one hand while holding the mat taught with the other hand until you are almost to the end of the roll.

9. Dip a clean finger into a bowl of fresh water and run it along the empty top edge of the nori sheet, rolling it forward to seal shut.

10. Place the roll on a cutting board, using a very sharp chef's knife and very little pressure, slice the roll first into halves, then quarters, then eighths.

11. Place the cut rolls in a serving dish and serve with pickled ginger, shoyu, soy or tamari sauce, and wasabi.

12. Enjoy!

The Earth is Our Mother

Hello Dear Ones,

Enjoy this beautiful video in honor of Mother Earth.

Saniye

Something we should all remember

This is a wonderful message and I hope you share the sentiment after reading. ~ Saniye

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window. I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy. Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.' 'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied. Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.

Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged .. it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. 'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away. Just for this time in my life.

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories! Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank. I am still depositing.

'Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred.
Free your mind from worries.
Live simply.
Give more.
Expect less.

The 'Love Police'

http://ordinarywords.com/police

Solara's Surf Update for March, 2010

This feels so true for me and I am happy to share it with you.

~ Saniye

This has been a time of deep stillness. This gives us the much needed opportunity to integrate the massive transformations that we have experienced so far this year. These transformations require us to make major recalibrations to our internal being and outer environment. This intense and thorough recalibration process has now begun. We have to repattern and reposition almost everything.

Many of us are still experiencing a series of Null Zones. Each time that this happens, not only is there a deep shattering, but something old leaves us. These are all expired elements that are ready to depart. So the Null Zones are actually serving a great purpose in helping us become more true and infinitely freer.

At this time, we may feel like our entire being is dissolving. We may feel so wide open and vulnerable that it feels like we don't have any skin to cover ourselves with. Numerous old roles and old personas are being stripped off of us. This is because we can't use these to define who we are anymore. Part of the process of emerging as a True One is this very necessary stripping off of our old roles and old personas.

While it's not necessarily very comfortable to feel so dissolved and raw, it's vitally important that we don't grab onto who we thought we were to make a temporary (and false) skin. We need to stay dissolved, stripped, raw, and wide open while our new skins are forming.

We are setting free many old elements of the past by taking them to a new level. We can transform our stuck old patterns by unpinning ourselves from our old selves. We can change our way of doing things simply by doing them as a True One.

We also have to be careful to avoid too much interaction with others, especially with those who want things from us, or who don't have clean or integrous energy. Too much outside input is not helpful at this time. Also, we have to be careful not to get lost in the search for information; instead just simply be....

It's natural at times to feel a deep sadness; this is because so much of the old and expired is dying away. There is even a dissolving of some of our Wildest Dreams and previously held beliefs about our New Lives. But no matter what, we shouldn't try to stop or slow down our dissolving process or try to hold onto any expired elements of the past. Simply, let them go. Releasing them creates empty space for the New and True to enter.

Once we do this, we can suddenly feel the New and this fills us with a burst of fresh energy and excitement. It's helpful at this time for us to do things that we have never done before. We don't need to wait for our New Life to arrive; we can start living in the somewhat shattered shards of our old lives as if we are already in our New Lives.

Be gentle with yourself at all times. Honor your Trueness. And especially, don't hold yourself back from LOVING and BEING LOVED. An abundance of LOVE is all around us, even when we feel empty and alone.

EVER EMBRACING YOU IN PURE HEART LOVE,

SOLARA
The NVISIBLE * 11:11

The NVISIBLE is a vast, transformational website where the Invisible is made visible. May we emerge as True Ones and walk upon the Path of Love. http://www.nvisible.com/

Hopi Message from the Elders

We felt an urgent calling to share this message with as many people as possible. Now you must go back and tell the people that this Is The Hour. Here are the things that must be considered:

Where are you living?

What are you doing?

What are your relationships?

Are you in right relation?

Where is your water?

Know our garden.

It is time to speak your Truth.

Create your community.

Be good to each other.

And do not look outside yourself for the leader.

This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel like they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off toward the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water. See who is there with you and celebrate.

At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves! For the moment we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt. The time of the lonely wolf is over. Gather yourselves!

Banish the word struggle from your attitude and vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we have been waiting for."

The Elders ~

Oraibi, Arizona Hopi Nation

Welcome to the Sanivan Wisdom Blog!

We are really excited to start our new Sanivan Wisdom newsletter and blog!
